Dr. Rogers is an experienced academic and business health care executive trained in three medical specialties. She has been Professor and/or Associate Dean at Yale University School of Medicine, Duke University School of Medicine, and the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Her academic background includes training, certification, and practice in the areas of Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Gastroenterology. She is currently Adjunct Professor of Medicine in Geriatrics at Johns Hopkins Medical School while continuing her work as Chief Operating Officer of Gibson Oncology.
As a healthcare administrator, she ran organizations with over 1500 employees and budgets in excess of $150 million a year. Since 2001, she has devoted much of her clinical, research, and administrative skills to the evaluation of pharmaceutical products and the focused development of biotech start-up companies in the areas of oncology, cardiology, and pain management. She was Director of Medical Affairs for a biopharmaceutical company specializing in innovative delivery of pain medications that became listed on NASDAQ and was successfully sold for over $200 million. She has been a Board Director of a cardiovascular drug development company that started as a private company, was listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, and ultimately became listed on NASDAQ. Prior to joining Gibson Oncology, Dr. Rogers was a Director of a stem cell company now in Phase II trials.
Dr. Rogers outside activities involves environmental work where she has been on the Board of the Nature Conservancy as well as the management of two family foundations. She enjoys yachting but really loves sailing.
